Job Summary

The incumbent is responsible for managing administrative operations for Citywide Case Management (CWCM) Programs, which include Administrative Operations, Staff Supervision and Development, Compliance and Quality Assurance, Billing Support, Communications and Coordination, and Data and Reporting for over 200 staff, faculty, and interns. The position has direct supervisory responsibility for one five administrative assistants.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $100,100 - $164,000 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Division of Citywide Case Management Programs at UCSF/ZSFG, Department of Psychiatry, is located at 1263 Mission Street, San Francisco. The Division provides comprehensive outpatient treatment to those suffering from severe mental illness, often complicated by homelessness, chronic traumatization, institutionalization, substance use disorder, and chronic medical conditions. The mission of the Division is to help clients recover their prior functioning, while reducing reliance on acute services, and facilitating transitions from ZSFG psychiatric inpatient care, jails, or other institutions to the community. Our programs serve a diverse group of individuals, characterized by their social, cultural, and linguistic differences, and are structured around interdisciplinary teams. Interventions provided include psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychotropic medication management, case management, outreach services, and employment assistance. The Division manages 17 programs with 10 funding sources, a budget exceeding $44 million, and a staff of 200 staff/faculty members, plus over 20 interns.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum five years of experience including three in a supervisory/lead role or equivalent experience / training
  • Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration. Five+ years of supervisor exp; experience with performance management
  • Solid knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and / or personnel management within labor contract(s) and personnel policy
  • Solid knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs0
  • Solid interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others.
  • Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions
  • Solid organizational and customer service skills to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and payroll
