UNC Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Internal Communications Manager to support strategic communications for UNC Health Physicians. This role is ideal for a thoughtful communicator with a strong background in healthcare messaging, stakeholder engagement, and physician-focused communications. The successful candidate will be a creative and organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and understands the nuances of communicating with and on behalf of clinical teams.

Summary:

The Internal Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that support UNC Health Physicians, including employed providers across the UNC Health system. This role will focus on internal messaging that promotes physician initiatives, clinical excellence, operational updates, and strategic priorities. The Internal Communications Manager will collaborate closely with physician leaders, clinical operations, and internal communications teams to ensure consistent, clear, and impactful messaging.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement communication plans that support UNC Health Physicians' goals, including clinical initiatives, leadership updates, and operational changes.

* Serve as a strategic partner to physician leaders, helping shape messaging that reflects UNC Health's mission and values.

* Create and manage content for physician audiences, including newsletters, intranet posts, leadership announcements, and clinical updates.

* Provide executive communications support for physician leadership, including talking points, presentations, and video scripts.

* Collaborate with internal teams (i.e., clinical operations, marketing, HR) to ensure alignment and consistency across communication channels.

* Support change management efforts by crafting clear, empathetic messaging around organizational transitions affecting physicians.

    * Monitor communication effectiveness through engagement metrics and feedback and adjust strategies accordingly.

    The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications:

    * Proven experience in a communications role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative and strategic thinking.* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.* Strong leadership, organizational skills and attention to detail.* Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.     Education Requirements:
    * Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.
    Licensure/Certification Requirements:
    * No licensure or certification required.
    Professional Experience Requirements:
    * Five (5) years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
    * Excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of medical research concepts sufficient to enable communication with clinical and basic science faculty.
