Job Summary

Under guidance of the uConnect Supervisor, the Enterprise Collaboration Analyst, is responsible for supporting the digital collaboration workspaces used by students, faculty, staff, and affiliates on the UC Davis campus. These include Google Workspace, Box, and Office 365 offerings like OneDrive. Utilized by campus users daily, these tools are a mission-critical part of the campus IT infrastructure. Assimilating knowledge from a variety of sources including Knowledge Base articles, blogs, Google product worksheets, webinars, other employees on the UC Davis campus, and other resources available elsewhere within and outside the University of California system, this position assists with troubleshooting issues and keeping the Google Workspace system running at optimal levels.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Degree in Computer Science or related eld and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Experience with enterprise messaging or collaboration tools in a university or professional setting, such as email (Google Email or Microsoft Exchange preferred), document storage tools (e.g. Google Drive,OneDrive or Box), and productivity tools (e.g. Google Docs or Google Sheets).
  • Experience documenting system processes and providing end-user support or training.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to independently analyze and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ability to use a ticket management system (e.g., ServiceNow) to provide user support, process end-user questions, and address user requests for access after consulting established policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively interact with organization-wide staff, internal customers, and team members to build collaborative relationships, exchange information, resolve issues and support organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education or with academic business processes.
  • Experience using organization and analytical skills to simultaneously work on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines, and independently follow projects through to completion while effectively and timely communicating with the team and stakeholders.
  • Experience with some modern programming languages and/or scripting tools.
  • Knowledge of information security best practices, particularly within an academic environment.
  • Skills in evaluating processes for optimizing efficiency and ease of use, and updating/creating documentation that reflects any updates to current processes or creation of new processes.
  • Database administration skills for supporting basic programming projects and/or data analysis.

Department Overview

This position is part of the uConnect team within the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) group under Information & Educational Technology (IET). The uConnect team provides service administration, development and support for a variety of mission critical systems and services including Active Directory, Google Workspace, and Email (Exchange Email and Google/DavisMail).

This position utilizes attention to detail, learning of new concepts and technologies, and applying the understanding of those concepts in practice to administer and support critical campus services.

Work Environment

Hire MUST be located in-state. (Out of state applicants will be considered but must relocate instate if hired). This position can be done primarily remote with the expectation that the employee must be available to come on site should management deem it necessary for emergencies, meetings, support activities, etc. No reimbursement of travel expenses, travel time not considered work hours.
