Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
UNCG is home to one of the oldest MFA writing programs in the country, with a professionally active English Department and flourishing graduate programs. Position Summary
The Department of English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for an assistant professor position in creative writing (poetry), to begin August 1st, 2026. Candidates should possess the ability to teach creative writing and literature at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Poetry writing with desirable research and/or teaching interests in the form, structure, and technique of poetry writing. Competitive salary and benefit package. Applicants must have published a minimum of one book of poetry with a nationally recognized press and demonstrate excellence in teaching. An MFA in poetry is the preferred degree.
