Description of Work

Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals.

Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The primary role of this position includes teaching undergraduate courses in electrical and computer engineering, junior design, mentoring student design project teams, and participating in course/curriculum development and improvement.
Applicants must be committed to teach undergraduate electrical and computer engineering courses including computer programming in C++, digital logic, electrical circuits, signals and systems, electronics, embedded systems, algorithms and data structures, and be actively involved in mentoring junior and senior design projects. Strong interest in collaborating with faculty on undergraduate curriculum development and research activities is desirable.
Minimum Experience/Education

UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience
A Ph.D. in electrical and/or computer engineering or equivalent degree is required for Teaching Assistant Professor Rank; a Master's degree in electrical and/or computer engineering with a minimum of five years' experience may be considered for Lecturer rank.
