Summary Ultrasound Team Leader1.0, FTE., 40 hrs. I First Shift BHCOR-Radiology Diagnostic I Corbin, KY The Ultrasound department, also known as Sonography, specializes in imaging that uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of the body's internal structures. Obstetric Ultrasound: Monitoring fetal development during pregnancy. Abdominal Ultrasound: Evaluating organs like the liver, kidneys, gallbladder, and pancreas. Cardiac Ultrasound (Echocardiography): Assessing heart function and detecting abnormalities. Vascular Ultrasound: Checking for blood clots, blockages, or circulation issues in veins and arteries. Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Evaluating soft tissue injuries, joint abnormalities, and fluid collections. With limited supervision, provides health care services and departmental efficiency in the Ultrasound department using sonic energy to assist with diagnosis or treatment. Performs ultrasound related procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by Radiologist or a licensed independent practitioner. Supports imaging leadership with ongoing coaching/education of ultrasound technologists, assists with internal quality programs, and collaborates to recruit and retain talent. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
