This Sales Leadership position is responsible for achieving membership, revenue and profitability objectives for the Key Accounts segment through the broker/consultant distribution channel. This leader's responsibility includes leading the Sales Staff and managing the distribution of the company's products and services of our core Medical business and Specialty products. This role will lead the development and execution of the annual Market Business Plan for the Key Account Sales segment

Position is aligned and works in close coordination with HP Leadership and various matrix partners (i.e. Optum, Optum Rx, underwriting, actuary, etc) to work toward the objectives of the local health plan. The role requires development of best practices and performance strategies for the market. Position is responsible for development and execution of the market's KA Sales plan. Increases sales pipeline, increases sales results and enhances market presence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ultimate accountability for sales results
  • Designs and implements long and short term sales strategies for all products for the Key Accounts segment
  • Knowledge of the local market and the competitors within it
  • Manage proposal activity, broker performance and close ratios
  • Forecast sales projections to ensure HP sales goals are being met
  • Develops best practices and works to implement based on local market conditions
  • Attract, recruit and retain a strong sales force
  • Train and Develop the sales force
  • Monitors on-going business plan performance throughout the year
  • Possesses expert consultative skills
  • Determines business solutions that positively impact the organization's profitability
  • Requires clear consistent communication to reach the goals of the organization
  • Must possess strong presentation skills
  • Will be involved with ongoing Channel strategy
  • Involvement with United advantage program/strategy to enhance and modify and continuously drive performance

Required Qualifications:

  • State Life and Health Insurance License
  • 5+ years of management experience, including the ability to create a strong and aggressive Sales culture throughout the sales organization
  • Demonstrates experience in full-range health care products, including but not limited to HMO,POS, PPO, Indemnity and specialty products
  • Possesses solid knowledge of health care systems and financing approaches and demonstrates the ability to apply it in developing local sales strategies
  • Demonstrates a successful history of sales and sales management in the managed health care industry
  • Proven to possess a solid track record in results-oriented, sales environment
  • Travel as required

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $130,000 to $240,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
