Business Development and Marketing Director

Dover Behavioral Health System is a 104-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Dover, Delaware area. Dover Behavioral Health System features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. The Business Development Director is a key member of Dover Behavioral Health System who will lead the community relations and marketing initiatives for the hospital. The BDD participates in the hospital's strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identify and oversee the development of the community relations programs necessary to meet the key mental health and substance abuse treatment needs of the community
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and referral initiatives to generate a continuous flow of admissions to meet the census goals of the hospital and build the Dover Behavioral Health brand in the community
  • Perform personnel management duties including recruiting and retention, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations, competency assessments, etc.
  • Supervise direct staff to ensure effective utilization of referral services and community relations opportunities including scheduling employees, identifying and addressing training needs and implementing a system of on-going employee performance monitoring
  • Under the direction of the CEO and CFO, manage contractual partnerships including creating, renewing, and negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Gather, analyze and report monthly facility clinical data to the Quality Council, Medical Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, Patient Safety Council, etc.
  • Initiates, develops and maintains relationships with community providers and stakeholders in support of the clinical needs of the community

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelors' degree in Marketing, Sales or other relevant field with a minimum of seven years of experience in management preferably in behavioral health or medical field
  • Strong oral communication skills and an ability to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience, strong presentation skills, and creativity in developing marketing methods to effectively deliver the service message to referral sources
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and dependable transportation
