Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This role requires both armed and driving responsibilities, offering the opportunity to interact with the public while delivering exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate protocols for armed personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and observe for any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and report suspicious activities.
  • Interact with the public and personnel at the location, offering assistance and providing information as appropriate.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client protocols.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies or security-related threats, following established procedures for armed response.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary, maintaining professionalism at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or armed guard license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
