Description
Summary: The Director of Clinical Learning and Competency Management is a Registered Nurse (RN) who leads the strategic planning, development, and execution of clinical learning initiatives across CHRISTUS Health. This role ensures clinicians receive high-quality, competency-based education through digital platforms, in-person workshops, and innovative instructional design. The Director collaborates with system leaders and local ministry colleagues to align learning delivery with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice to ensure clinical competency and effectiveness. Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Partners with system and ministry leaders to assess clinical learning needs and develop scalable, high-impact educational strategies.
- Leads cross-functional teams in the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical learning programs.
- Serves as a key liaison between Nursing Education, Clinical Operations, Human Resources, and Digital Experience teams.
- Oversees the delivery of clinical education through digital learning platforms, in-person workshops, and hybrid models.
- Ensures learning programs are evidence-based, competency-driven, and aligned with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness using data analytics, learner feedback, and performance outcomes.
- Harvests best practices and innovations from across the system and the healthcare industry to share and implement with ministries within CHRISTUS Health.
- Directs the creation of innovative, engaging, and clinically relevant educational content using instructional design best practices.
- Guides the development of course materials, simulations, and digital modules tailored to diverse clinical roles and specialties.
- Ensures content is current, inclusive, and reflective of CHRISTUS Health's mission and values.
- Maintains and manages the database of required clinical education courses required for clinicians upon hire and annually to fulfill internal and regulatory requirements.
- Manages clinical content lifecycle within Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accessibility.
- Develops and maintains documentation, policies, and procedures to support efficient clinical learning operations.

Job Requirements: Education/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Master's degree preferred
Experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience in clinical education, instructional design, and/or healthcare leadership is required
- 5 years of leadership/management experience preferred
- Proven experience with Learning Management systems (eg., Cornerstone and Docebo) required
- Expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles required
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- RN licensure in the state of employment required
In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame. Work Schedule: 5 Days - 8 Hours Work Type: Full Time
