YOUR ROLE

In this role, you will provide strategic medical leadership while delivering high-quality primary and urgent care to Promega employees and their families. You will lead and mentor a team of Physician Assistants and a Medical Assistant to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care. You'll work closely with Physical Therapy, Mind Health, and Administration to create an integrated, employee-centered wellness experience and bring insight into diagnostics, therapeutics, population health, and emerging innovations-including digital tools and AI-to strengthen care delivery. You will also serve as a trusted advisor for employees navigating complex medical concerns with ethical, inclusive, and compassionate care.

JOB OBJECTIVE
Provide strategic oversight and direct clinical care in support of the health and well-being of Promega employees and family members. This role leads the clinical team, collaborates with internal partners to align medical services with organizational priorities, and ensures delivery of progressive, evidence-based care. The Physician brings awareness of emerging therapies, technologies, and population health strategies to advance a thriving employee experience at Promega.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Lead and manage the clinical team, including two Physician Assistants and a Medical Assistant, ensuring high-quality, coordinated care for employees.

2. Provide urgent and primary care services to employees and their families/dependents within the Promega Wellness Center.

3. Serve as the supervising physician for advanced practice providers and provide clinical oversight in alignment with state regulations including a structured collaboration model with the Physician Assistant team with monthly clinical reviews, shared CME goals, and structured mentorship, to strengthen PA development and allow them to practice at full scope.

4. Collaborate closely with Mind Health, Human Resources/Benefits, and Administration to deliver integrated employee health services.

5. Support and consult on Promega's employee health benefits and wellness strategies, offering insight into medical and population health trends.

6. Bring strategic awareness of emerging diagnostics, therapeutics, and workplace health trends to leadership discussions.

7. Remain open to innovative therapies such as ketamine-assisted treatment, with appropriate medical judgment and regulatory compliance.

8. Maintain current knowledge of health technology tools that enhance care delivery, efficiency, and employee experience.

9. Act as a trusted advisor for employees seeking guidance on complex or sensitive medical concerns, assisting them in navigating healthcare systems.

10. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

12. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), with board certification in family medicine, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.

2. Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Wisconsin or eligibility to obtain.

3. Willingness to obtain California licensure. Current CA license is desirable.

4. Minimum 8 years of clinical experience, including both urgent and primary or internal medicine care.

5. Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading clinical teams and supervising advanced practice providers.

6. Ability to operate a computer and phone, use Microsoft Office applications, and adapt to emerging technologies relevant to the role.

7. Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive health strategies aligned to organizational needs.

8. Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and technology, including Microsoft applications and mobile platforms, with the ability to adapt and leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, automation, and collaboration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in occupational medicine, employer-based clinics, or corporate wellness programs.

2. Preventive medicine, epidemiology, and/or population health science training are desirable.

3. Knowledge of or experience with integrative and emerging therapies, including ketamine-assisted therapy.

4. Familiarity with health benefits plan design and employee health data analysis.

5. Comfort with digital health platforms and new clinical technology innovations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time.

2. Ability to traverse clinics and building environments to interact with staff and patients.

3. Ability to move objects up to twenty pounds.

4. Ability to use computer and telephone equipment for extended periods.
