As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design and develop the scalable backend systems behind Adobe Mix Modeler, a measurement and planning product built on Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) that helps marketers make faster, more confident decisions. You'll build reliable backend services that bring AI and machine learning innovations to life. Your work will power data orchestration, model execution, and insight generation at scale. - Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Python and related frameworks.
- Implement scalable, distributed, and secure microservices to support data ingestion, orchestration, and model execution workflows.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers to integrate AI/ML models into production workflows with high reliability and efficiency.
- Partner with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver end-to-end customer-facing capabilities within AMM.
- Build and maintain APIs and services collaborating with AEP and other internal systems.
- Build and operate backend services with strong observability, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural planning.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in backend, ML infrastructure, and GenAI applications, finding opportunities for innovation.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in the field.
- 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django; familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala, or TypeScript) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of distributed system design, API development, and service reliability.
- Proven experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance services in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines, RESTful service design, and cloud-based development (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience with data storage technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or Redis.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills with a focus on quality and maintainability.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams that include ML engineers, product managers, and frontend developers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in machine learning infrastructure, including model deployment, data orchestration, and observability of production ML systems (e.g., Airflow, MLflow, Databricks, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Generative AI applications or workflows driven by AI.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Understanding of secure software development practices and performance optimization.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $133,900 -- $242,000 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.
