Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support Project and Department Managers with project analysis, compliance, document control, meeting coordination, estimating assistance, and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Research and interpret technical engineering data to ensure compliance with standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
  • Assist in resolving field issues, identifying solutions and escalating to Project Managers for documentation and approval.
  • Analyze plans and specifications to provide clear, trackable interpretations for construction teams.
  • Manage document control per policy, including RFIs, submittals, and supporting field personnel with follow-through. Track progress and financials throughout the project lifecycle (billings, WIPs, etc.).
  • Support estimating efforts by performing take-offs, drafting proposals, and collaborating with the estimating team.
  • Research and recommend solutions for design conflicts, interferences, and errors/omissions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built updates and close-out materials.
  • Assist with field change requests to resolve design issues.
  • Participate in coordination and strategy meetings with owners, contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study, OR three years of construction related experience, is required.
  • Blueprint & Systems Knowledge: Ability to read blueprints and integrate multiple building systems.
  • Construction Expertise: Familiarity with commercial construction, HVAC, plumbing systems; estimating experience preferred.
  • Technical & Software Skills: Strong computer skills (MS Office) with ability to learn AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, PlanGrid, Bluebeam/Adobe Pro, estimating tools, Procore/Primavera, and file-sharing platforms.
  • Organizational Strength: Excellent time management and scheduling skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Growth Mindset: Eager to master construction concepts and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Tech Savvy: Experience with iPhone and iPad helpful.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and customer service skills.


Other Details:



  • This position will report regularly in person to Duluth, MN.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20-40% of the time to local/regional job sites and client locations.

Compensation & Benefits:



  • The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $27.20 - $40.80. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
