University of California, undertook a modernization initiative for financial management (Aggie Enterprise), accounting, procurement, budgeting and reporting activities to facilitate better managerial information, enhanced standardization of data, and support for more efficient processes in units across campus.
This position is responsible for the creation and execution of functional plans in support of the Finance modules within Aggie Enterprise, including:-Develop options and plans for module implementation and execute those plans.-Develop and maintain project workstream schedules.-Collaborate with other functional and technical staff working on Award and Contract Management modules which may include finance team members, campus and health system partners and external consultants.
Development and execution of the module training continued change management strategies and effective communication and collaboration with diverse subject matter experts, business partners, functional users and implementation partners is essential for success in this role.
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a high degree of knowledge in the overall higher education accounting field including business process improvement and have the skills to perform complex analysis.
In the context of the modernization initiative, this position will focus on the current and future state of the general ledger and chart of accounts including, but not limited to, future state design, business process integration, testing, data conversion, local reporting needs and customer support needs. #CA-AR

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, Accounting, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience using Oracle Financials or other subledger accounting platform.
- Experience with the development of training content as subject matter expert.
- Experience identifying process improvements using lean business principles.
- Experience working in a financial management field with advanced Excel functions and formulae.
- Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, business processes, and financial reporting including demonstrated decision-making, problem solving, critical thinking, project and initiative management skills.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical accounting terminology to a varied audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma certification at Green Belt or higher.
- CFRA or CRA designation preferred.
- Experience as a functional analyst in Oracle Financials applications and working knowledge of the Project Portfolio management (PPM) and Accounts Receivable (AR) subledgers.
- Experience transforming and streamlining core business and administrative processes using lean business principles.
- Experience working with computerized financial systems and possession of an understanding of fund accounting.
- Experience using data analytics in a financial management field.
- Experience with the development of metric reporting tools (Dashboards).
- Experience as a functional analyst in Oracle Financials applications.
- Experience transforming and streamlining core business and administrative processes using lean business principles.
- Experience working with computerized financial systems and possession of an understanding of fund accounting.
- Experience using data analytics in a financial management field.
- Experience working in a finance related role in a large research institution of Higher Education of a significant complexity and breadth.
- Detailed understanding of the setup and architecture of Oracle Financials.
