You will plan and direct the daily workflow and activities of a group of manufacturing, skilled trade, and support personnel in multiple work groups. The supervisory scope is for complex production operations requiring multiple shifts. The incumbent does not typically perform the work being supervised but provides troubleshooting to minimize disruption in workflow. At the Richland Horn Rapids Road (HRR) Facility, individuals hired into this position may have additional applicable duties and qualification requirements as set forth in the HRR Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Special Materials License and/or HRR Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan (FNMCP).



What You'll Do Day-To-Day

    Plans, organizes, prioritizes, monitors and controls the work activities of the group(s) in accordance with customer requirements and company policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Trains, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
  • Typically approves employees' timecards and participates in employee selection process.
  • May recommend wage adjustment or change of status.
  • Supervises group's performance to complete work within budget and schedule.
  • Ensures staff adherence to quality, regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Facilitates implementation of workflow methods and team improvements.
  • Provides expertise to staff in resolution of non-routine manufacturing/technical problems.


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing procedures and processes and skill in applying manufacturing team concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, vendors and customers.
  • Understanding of machining, assembly, fabrication, or other relevant production methods.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards or industry-specific quality systems. OSHA regulations and workplace safety protocols.
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action planning.

  • Salary: $92,000 - $124,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
