Purpose of the Job

The Industrial Quality Inspector ensures that products and parts delivered by Alstom facilities meet all quality, safety, and compliance requirements. This role supports manufacturing by performing inspections, validating control plans, reporting non-conformities, and ensuring corrective actions deliver compliant results. The inspector works closely with Process & Manufacturing Engineering (PME) to maintain and enhance the self-inspection processes and control plans.


Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Compliance




  • Perform inspections on parts, products, trains, and installations, including verification after rework.



  • Ensure product compliance in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards.



  • Conduct destructive and non-destructive examinations when required and qualified.



  • Participate in customer joint inspections and contribute to approval and shipping documentation.




Documentation & Reporting




  • Record inspection results in industrial digital tools.



  • Maintain inspection records for components, assemblies, and vehicles.



  • Maintain and update quality documentation associated with components, assemblies, and vehicles.



  • Assist with creating and validating manufacturing control plans in collaboration with PME teams.




Operational Support




  • Verify calibration of critical equipment and instruments used for inspections.



  • Support Production teams to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.



  • Contribute to APSYS (continuous improvement) initiatives.



  • Complete all required training and maintain necessary competencies.



  • Provide support to the team to cover daily tasks as needed, including overtime when required.




Requirements

Education & Experience




  • Associate degree required.



  • Minimum 4 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.



  • Experience in quality or audit activities is highly appreciated.



  • Awareness of manufacturing processes and project-delivered products.




Technical Skills




  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.



  • Familiarity with a variety of testing tools and equipment.



  • Qualifications in applicable special processes within the inspector's scope of work.



  • Railway industry experience is a plus.



  • Desirable certifications/skills:




    • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)



    • NDT qualifications



    • GD&T competency



    • 3D inspection



    • PolyWorks experience
