This is an entry-level position requiring basic knowledge of electricity. It is recommended that incumbents attend one or two years of trade school to prepare them for advancement opportunities. The Electrician I position will allow for the incumbent to learn electrical theory, work practices, safety procedures, and become familiar with the NEC. This position will also provide opportunity to learn proper use of basic electrical tools and equipment to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems. Utilizes exceptional customer service and communication skills. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe working environment and support an exceptional Environment of Care for Mercy.

Overview: This is an entry-level position requiring basic knowledge of boiler, HVAC, refrigeration, control system maintenance and operation, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and painting. It is recommended that incumbents attend one or two years of trade school to prepare them for advancement opportunities. The Facility Systems Technician I position will allow the incumbent to learn operations for HVAC, refrigeration systems, plumbing, electricity, work practices, safety procedures, and become familiar with the respective equipment regulatory requirements. This position will also provide an opportunity to learn proper use of basic tools and equipment necessary to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems. This position will support small and mid-size hospitals, critical access hospitals, small inpatient/outpatient facilities, and clinics. The Facility Systems Technician provides the necessary skill to operate, maintain, and repair various electrical/plumbing systems, movable equipment, physical plant equipment, furniture, walls, ceilings, and floors. Utilizes exceptional customer service and communication skills. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe working environment and support an exceptional Environment of Care for Mercy. Experience: This is an entry level position with a preference of 1 or more years commercial experience working with any of the following equipment: HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Certification/Registration: Other Skills and Knowledge:
Preferred Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School. Licensure: Boiler, HVAC, or Refrigeration. Electrical and/or Plumbing. Experience: 1 or more years working as a maintenance technician in a healthcare, educational, or industrial setting. Certification/Registration: EPA approved Universal Certification for handling Refrigerants Must be trained to NFPA 80 regulations for fire door inspection and maintenance. Must be trained to UL standards for fire stopping.
