Sterile Processing Technician - PRN - Rotating Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY: Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies. Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures. Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Prior experience in Central Processing or a related department, preferred. Contingent requirements: Minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule period Maximum of 96 hours prescheduled in a 6-week period Shifts are 12 hours in length Minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday 1500 - Monday 0730) Must work at least 1 summer and 1 winter holiday Summer: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day Winter: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year's Day Will also work one of the following shifts: Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, or the Day after Christmas Additional Information Organization: Henry Ford Rochester Hospital Department: Sterile Processing 001 Shift: Rotating Union Code: Not Applicable
