Position Highlights The School of Architecture at the University of Arizona seeks applicants whose research, teaching, and creative practice bridge design innovation, technology, and environmental performance. Duties & Responsibilities

We seek a new and committed colleague for a tenure-track
position at The University of Arizona, a Research 1 university located in
Tucson, a cultural gem in the Southwest. The faculty member hired will be a
current or future leader who expands the boundaries of innovative and
experimental design with approaches informed by computational design,
performance modeling, and/or advanced digital tools such as AI. The work will
engage these tools with the aim of addressing grand social and environmental
challenges, such as environmental impact and ecosystem degradations, including
energy, water, air, and/or material flows and applications.

Our new colleague will actively build new collaborations
with faculty in the School of Architecture and in allied disciplines including
Sustainable Built Environments, Landscape Architecture and/or Urban Planning.
Within the broader context of the University, there is potential for a wide
network of partnerships programs centered on resilience, AI and data,
environment, energy, health, and water. The candidate may demonstrate alignment
with one or more of the university's key research areas: 1) Data, Information
Systems and Artificial Intelligence; 2) Energy, Mining, and Environmental
Sustainability; 3) The Future of Health and Biomedical Sciences; 4) The Human
Experience; 5) National Security; 6) Space Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Professional
    degree in architecture (Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture
    or international equivalent)
  • Post-Graduate
    Degree in Architecture or Related Discipline (Master's Degree or
    PhD)
Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or doctorate in architecture or related discipline.
  • Professional design experience and/or licensure.
  • Experience teaching design studio and/or other architecture courses.
  • Demonstrated record or evidence of potential funding for research or creative practice.
