Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: CT, DE, IA, IN, KS, KY, NC, NH, OH, PA, RI, SC, VA, WV, PA, WI, AZ, FL, GA, MO, TN, TX.

The Senior Business Planning and Support lead is a strategic partner to the data platform technology leaders, driving department planning, governance, and operational excellence. This position sits at the intersection of Strategy, Workforce, and Financials. This role leads the development and execution of long-term strategy and workforce plans ensuring alignment with organizational goals, resource needs, and critical business priorities. It oversees financial planning and budget management for the data platform technology department providing insights to optimize operational decisions and efficiencies. The position establishes and maintains workforce governance structures, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks enabling effective decision making and transparent oversight. This individual acts as a connector across technology, the business, and stakeholders ensuring the Data Platforms department is positioned to execute its strategy, scale responsibly, and deliver measurable value.


Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy - Works directly with technology leaders to plan, create, and execute business plans, inclusive of the workforce strategy and financial plans, aligned to department and organizational goals. Organizing and facilitates strategic planning for the technology leaders.
  • Team Leadership - Leads special projects, serving as a resource to wider business unit or organization. Utilizes expertise to provide guidance, feedback, and direction on complex matters. Assists in the communication of performance results and expected behaviors.
  • Reporting - Prepare presentations and reports showing progress towards business plans, summarizing finding and strategic insights. Produces reports based on analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Identifies patterns, problems, and areas of improvement, and tracks effectiveness of implemented enhancements. Creates specifications, project plans, and other documentation in support of business initiatives. May review or verify reports of team.
  • Data Analysis - Works with large amounts of data including sourcing, compiling, reconciling, and interpreting the data. Performs complex data analysis, effectively communicating and directing analysis output.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Business Strategy, Project Planning, and Financial Services industry OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Business Strategy, Project Planning, and Financial Services industry

Preferred:

  • Highly organized and ability to work independently to drive results
  • Developing, maintaining, and delivering metrics
  • Financial and accounting experience; Managing financials for a large organization
  • Creating and managing a workforce plan, for a large organization
  • Working with large volumes of data
  • Preparing and presenting data for Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and executive level reporting
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Expert proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

License or Certification Type: Lean Six Sigma experience or certification, Financial or accounting experience

License or Certification Type: PMP
