Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Warehouse Architect for a 9-month contract role with our utilities. The client has 2 locations, Minneapolis, MN and Denver, CO. This role will be hybrid with at least 1 day onsite in either location.

Compensation: $100-115 per hour W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Data Warehouse Architect III

Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person responsible for). Data Architect for the Customer Portfolio to support the CIS Modernization/Transformation effort.

What does a typical day look like? Projects run from small enhancements from overall solutions design. Example - Customer data grid, sits in AWS Aurora/Relational database - Core operational database, data from the CRM (Salesforce) and the billing system CRS. We also have an client Energy Data Fabric that sits on a Databricks platform in AWS. Solution architecture focused on data and data movement/access/visualization/integrations, then handed off to database engineers. Works across hybrid cloud/on premise databases including SaaS solutions like Salesforce. Assess how data should be modeled (changes to existing operational database to fit with new data elements/domains aligned with a Customer 360 view), how that data should be accessed (i.e., normalized databases might be great for storage but not always for quick realtime access). Understand and be accountable in setting standards around the data governance and management of what data to access from where (understanding system of record, system of truth, aligning to standards to minimize replication of data, etc).

What is the size of the group this position will be supporting? Who are some of the key players this person will be working with? Works within customer portfolio. Will provide architecture oversight/guidance for the CIS Modernization effort - data migration/conversion, data quality, integration patterns for data access, etc.

Will this resource support internal (business), or external customers? Communication wise - Internal and External/Third party vendors, Franklin, GridX that provide products.
Describe work environment / team culture (supportive/collaborative, teamwork or individual contributor)? Highly collaborative

What is the ramp up time/process for this role? Aside from having the required skill set, approximately how long will it take to train on client's process, procedures/policy? 1-2 months for basic ramp up, longer for more domain knowledge/understanding.

Candidate Detail Section
What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required? AWS native services and data architecture experience, experience with modern technology stack, databricks, working with datalakehouse architectures desired. Strong experience/knowledge in data modeling skills are required. An understanding of creation of data products. Utility - Energy/gas, utility/communications phones, etc., would be helpful. Min 8-10 years of experience. Experience delivering artifacts, diagramming with Architecture tooling. Commensurate experience is more beneficial. Experience with data movement connectors and/or platforms nice to have, AWS experience required, knowledge of SAP and/or Salesforce data models and architecture is preferred. Understanding technology options to understand what is best option.

What non-technical skills are necessary (i.e., such as communication, problem solving, team player)? No ego, humble approach, great communication/documentation, diagramming skills. someone who is excited about learning that has solid AWS. Work together. Self-motivated.
