Position Overview
| Primary Purpose of Position |
The
Accounting Technician in the
Treasurer's Office performs a variety of specialized accounting and cash management functions related to student billing, receivables, and university revenue collection. The position ensures that financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with university policies, state regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (
GAAP).

| Duties |
- Processes and posts student tuition and fee payments, deposits, and adjustments accurately and within established timelines.
- Reconciles daily cashiering, deposits, and general ledger accounts to ensure all funds are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Prepares journal entries, refund requests, and transfer transactions in coordination with the Controller's Office.
- Tracks and reports aging receivables, outstanding balances, and payment plan activity.
- Assists in preparing monthly and year-end reconciliation reports for the Treasurer or Budget Office review.
- Ensures internal controls and segregation of duties are maintained for all financial transactions.
