Landscape Architecture Student

We are seeking a Landscape Architecture Student to assist the Landscape Architecture department with various aspects of projects from conceptual design to construction documentation and site visits. We seek a creative individual, with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to think outside of the box to create design solutions. Our studio is led by collaboration, narrative design, and a solutions focused mindset.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



  • Preparation of both hand and computer-generated documents for programming, schematic, design development, and construction phases.
  • Preparation of marketing and presentation graphics.
  • Develop and apply site analysis and design skills.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and coordinating efforts with other team members.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment including architects, civil engineers and environmental engineers.
  • Actively participate in education and mentoring programs and events.


  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited 4 or 5-year Landscape Architecture program.
  • Familiar with design and production software such as AutoCAD, Land F/X, Lumion, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, Enscape, D5 and/or similar applications.
  • Previous landscape architecture internship or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Active membership in your student chapter of ASLA or other related professional organizations and clubs.


Working Conditions:

At JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. JMT offers a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least three days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. While most of our work is desk-based, there may be times when standing, walking, bending and lifting of minimal weight are required. Our office environment is comfortable, has adequate lighting and temperature, and is free from noise, dust, and other hazards.
