Overview

The Supply Chain organization is looking for an individual that can lead with high energy, and a positive attitude, in a quick paced environment with high visibility. A supervisor of supply chain is responsible for leading procurement teams, providing oversight, and guidance to deliver quality material from the supply base to out shipyard on time at the best value for our shareholders and customers.

Responsibilities include:

    Supporting the Groton Material Availability Team in the procurement of emergent material needs including MILSTRIP material, small dollar material, and vendor services to support construction schedules.
  • Industrial Sales contract solicitation and material delivery to NAVICP and DLA.

Supervisor duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure process and procedures are well understood and followed.
  • Review of supplier proposals for adequacy and compliance including contract terms and conditions, cost/price analysis
  • Negotiation of Price, Delivery, and other Terms and Conditions
  • Contract administration including managing the supplier, as well an internal departments, to ensure successful contract performance
  • Ensuring ITAR compliance when conducting business with foreign suppliers
  • Resolution of problems affecting contract performance and shipyard schedules
  • Purchase order and subcontract closeout

Supervisory duties will also include the training and development of personnel, assignment of work and prioritization, review and approval of work products, review and development of metrics, labor budget development, sales forecast, assuring timely completion of work assignments, and salaried performance reviews. This individual should possess the skills necessary to lead and build a collaborative team to support construction and submarine fleet material needs.

Position requires proven skills in: project management, organization, multitasking, problem solving, negotiating and communication, as well as supply base capability knowledge, technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and excellent computer skills.

The ability to interface effectively with various customers such: NAVICP, DLA, PMS392, EB Program offices, Ships Management, Operations, Finance, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Planning Yard, various Quality Departments, EB Off-Site Departments, as well as Senior Electric Boat Management Staff is essential.

Monthly business travel is required.

Ability to provide off shift and weekend support during critical shipyard key events.

*This position is on site in our Groton, CT facility.



Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years experience in Supply Chain, Program Office, or Subcontract Audit
  • Experience in government contracting, supply chain management, procurement, or contract administration.
  • Familiarity in supply chain management applications such as ORACLE, MRPII, and PowerBI
  • Demonstrated experience in using all Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and graph/charts

Preferred:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Economics
  • Military experience or Shipyard/Shipbuilding experience
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Experience working with Senior Management at Electric Boat
  • Experience working with EB's iSupplier / Oracle procurement system
