What to Expect
Whether you're driving or riding in a Tesla, the touchscreens serve as your control center for the car's many systems and features. The UI System Integration team ensures that relationship remains fast and intuitive. Tight integration between the UI and vehicle components is required for the interfaces to influence real-world behavior; without it, safety, comfort, and performance are all compromised. In this role, you'll write the C++ software that bridges our user interfaces to the physical subsystems (HVAC, body controls, drive systems, charging, and more). Drawing on a first-principles understanding of mechatronics, you'll partner with designers & embedded developers to optimize ride quality, build robust safety mechanisms, and deliver awesome in-car experiences.

What You'll Do
  • Rapid prototyping of in-car customer experiences
  • Designing and specifying implementation requirements for new customer-facing features
  • Design, code, and debug UI interfaces and state machines
  • Design and implement robust interfaces to facilitate system-level vehicle behaviors
  • Work with a cross-functional team of Designers and Hardware, Software, and Integration Engineers

What You'll Bring
  • Proficient in C++
  • Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts and embedded development
  • Understanding of mechatronic fundamentals, and ability to apply them to automotive concepts
  • Comfortable with Electrical Engineering fundamentals
  • Comfortable analyzing data to improve design and performance of a system
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional capacity for managing concurrent projects and challenges
  • Experience working with complex systems with multiple components
  • Experience with Qt framework, preferred

    Expected Compensation
    $140,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
