DESCRIPTION

Daily duties include but not limited to procurement duties, ordering, receiving, perform billing and recharge transactions, manage inventory, manage drug recalls and drug shortages. Use of Pyxis Automated dispensing Cabinets and reporting function to optimize clinics inventory. Perform contract and purchasing analysis to identify cost savings opportunities and optimize product standardization. Navigate and maintain contract compliance through contractual differences to standardize and maximize contract savings across all UCSD clinics. Serves as a liaison with clinic users to support all procurement activities implementation and disseminate information to maintain a cost effective and efficient supply chain system. Collaborating with the 340B team as a resource for interventions pertaining to ordering, price verification, contract compliance, 340B compliance and inventory management. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with pharmaceutical wholesalers and vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training. Related experience with Pharmacy Purchasing.

  • Analytical skills necessary to evaluate the quality and cost effectiveness of multiple and complex purchasing options.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

  • Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of contracts.

  • Strong level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software.

  • Knowledge of organization's departments and operations required in order to meet their procurement needs.

  • Strong skills in the use of ERP / financial systems (such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Banner, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pharmacy technician license, CPhT license.

  • Hospital inpatient pharmacy experience.

  • Experience and skills to manage procurement and distribution of medications for ambulatory care clinics.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,600 - $127,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $34.29 - $61.02

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
