JOB TITLE Phoenix STEM Academy Counselors JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Camp Counselors will be responsible for managing their designated campers. This would include delivering interactive lesson plans, developing and bolstering the students' interest in STEM and creating a fun and safe environment for all campers. Camp Counselors will be provided with an outline of events and curriculum along with all the materials needed to conduct the lessons, experiments, or activities. We are seeking several camp counselors to support camp programs for elementary, middle, and high school age groups. JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a fun and interactive camper experience
  • Work with other camp counselors and university staff and faculty to maintain a safe and fun environment.
  • Develop some programming and provide materials lists.
  • Follow the pre-determined plan, but be prepared to pivot if something changes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 or more years in a full-time teaching or coaching position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified teacher in a STEM field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Experience in teaching or coaching minors.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Experience in the STEM fields, either working in or teaching.
  • Ability to teach and provide classroom management during the camp.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an outside environment on occasion; experience operating a golf cart will be beneficial.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:

  • This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute *435.04.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The schedule will be discussed with the hiring Director.

TARGET HIRING SALARY:

  • Curriculum Building ($500)
  • Summer Camp 1: 06/08-06/12/2026 ($1,500)
  • Summer Camp 2: 06/22-06/26/2026 ($1,500)
  • Summer Camp 3: 07/13-07/17/2026 ($1,500)
  • Summer Camp 4: 07/20-07/24/2026 ($1,500)
