Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Neurology ranging from $220,000.00 - $289,000.00 The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See the Professorial Series (Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor of Teaching Series - Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR (TENURE TRACK/IN RESIDENCE - 50/50) IN NEUROMUSCULAR RESEARCH

UCI invites applications for a full-time faculty to join the Department of Neurology in the School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, University of California, Irvine. The appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level and the series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In Residence with secured extramural funding.

Ideal applicants will be employing molecular/cellular, neurobiological, genetic and/or clinical research approaches to the study of neuromuscular disease, including but not limited to ALS and other neuromuscular disorders. Successful candidates will have track records of creativity and productivity, demonstrated potential for outstanding future achievement, and a desire to participate in an exciting, interactive, and rapidly growing neuroscience and neurological disease research community.

The successful candidate will be expected to mount a productive and innovative research program, obtain extramural funding, and actively participate in graduate student, medical student, and resident education. They will be able to leverage existing resources and strengths of UCI Health and its campus partners, including the Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences, Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC), and graduate and resident training programs in the neurosciences and biomedical sciences. Researchers at UCI also benefit from outstanding resources and collaborators housed in UCI Beall Applied Innovation, the UCI Health Beckman Laser Institute, the Center for Neurotherapeutics, the Center for Neural Circuit Mapping, and others.

We also expect the successful applicant to demonstrate a genuine commitment to service activities within the local, national, and international community.

Candidates must hold a M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree(s). A clinical presence in our robust neuromuscular disorders clinical services will be considered an advantage but is not required.
