Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Utility Operator (Potable Water / Wastewater), supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining or supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Open to internal, BNH employees and external candidates. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will perform a variety of manual and technical work as a Utility Operator (Water/Wastewater) under general supervision.

Job Duties:

    Adds chemicals to disinfect and deodorize water and other liquids
  • Inspects equipment
  • Monitors operating conditions, meters and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions
  • Collects and takes samples of water and sewage
  • Records operational data
  • Operates and adjusts controls on equipment
  • Maintains, repairs and lubricates equipment
  • Cleans and maintains tanks, filter beds and other work areas using hand and power tools
  • Responsible for ensuring general housekeeping of assigned areas is maintained
  • Responsible to immediate supervisor on matter relating to operation and operator maintenance if assigned pumping station, coordination with other station and coordination of pumping operations with test facilities
  • Responsible for ensuring general housekeeping of assigned areas is maintained
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
  • Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience in the operation of a Potable/Wastewater Plant
  • Must be willing/able to work first, second, third, to include odd and weekend shifts
  • Must be available to work overtime as required
  • Must have working knowledge of computers
  • Will participate in functional specific safety training and related environmental stewardship programs
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain company physical and security requirement to include AEDC computer access
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract
  • S. Citizenship

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must possess and maintain a State of Tennessee Grade III or higher Water Treatment Operations Certificate and a valid State driver's license with acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active secret clearance
  • Working knowledge of various types of pumps and valves
  • Working knowledge pumping station operations and maintenance
