Responsibilities & Expectations:

The General Manager, Business Development Center will be responsible for leading a high-performing inside sales team focused on driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base with both white space and existing customer accounts.

This individual will play a key role in developing and executing sales strategies to achieve the BDC annual operating plan, implementing efficient processes, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability within the Business Development Center.

Team Building and Leadership:

  • Sales Leadership: Develop a clear strategy and action plan and execute against Annual Operating Plan to meet or exceed targets and maximize team effectiveness
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Provide coaching, mentorship, performance feedback and development to Business Development Center representatives
  • Talent Pipeline & Development: engage in continuous recruitment, hiring, and training a of inside sales representatives.
  • Culture Development: Foster a positive and motivating work environment that encourages healthy competition, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Sales Strategy Leadership

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and business objectives in close coordination with Commercial organization, Regions and Product Lines and continuously refine sales strategies and tactics based on market feedback and performance
  • Market Knowledge: Identify key market opportunities and customer segments to prioritize sales efforts
  • Leadership Alignment: Collaborate with senior management across IPS's Commercial, Regions and Business Lines to align sales strategies with overall company goals.
  • Process Optimization: Design and implement e icient sales processes and workflows to streamline operations and maximize productivity in sync with Outside Sales team
  • Process Excellence: Utilize CRM systems and other tools to track sales metrics, analyze performance data, and identify areas for improvement insights.

Performance Management

  • KPI Management: Maintain and continuously improve clear performance expectations and KPIs for the inside sales team and maintain strong operating rhythm with team for visual management
    • Monitor individual and team performance metrics and take corrective action as needed to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Performance Management Execution: Conduct frequent feedback sessions and regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and support to help team members achieve their goals.

Commercial Leadership

  • Customer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external customers and prospects.
  • Lead Generation: Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to generate leads, nurture client relationships, and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and addressing customer concerns promptly and effectively.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven track record of success in inside sales management, preferably in the industrial services sector.
  • 10+ years in Business-to-Business (B2B) Sales leadership.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and performance metrics.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
