Senior Software Engineer,Social Location:San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo) The Senior Software Engineer willdesign anddevelopPlayStation features on the PS5,mobileandother supported platforms.Theywill provide strong technicalknowledge,experience,and implementation effortsacross theset of client applications.The ideal candidate will come from a strong object-oriented development background and be passionate about full stack and web technologies on both the front end and back end. Role Responsibilities Architect and developcomplex projects acrossmultiple-teamsand fields to delivernew and innovativefeatures. Develop andmaintainhigh-quality front-end applications using React Native, ensuring they areproduction-ready and meet performancestandards. Extremely proactive and independent, communicating with all relevant stakeholders on plans,schedules,anddeliverables. Create and deploy adaptable UI elements for multiple platforms, emphasizing scalability and easeof maintenance, while incorporating architectural frameworks such as MVC, MVVM, and MVP. Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Designers to understand feature requirements, define technical requirements, and develop newfeatures. Will haveownership oftechnology,common shareable featuresacross a large project or on several smallprojects. Produce excellent, thoroughdesign,architecture,and developmentdocumentation. Focus onquality and strive to improve processes, propose standardmethodologies,and drive their usage within theteams. Partner with QA engineers to ensure test coverage and verify test plans that help deliver high qualityfeatures. Write unit tests andcomponenttests for features with key characteristics of stability and maintainability which preventregressionsin the productcode. Efficiently debug issues raised by internal and external users and work with the team to provide resolutions to these issues Support andmentorother team members and provide technical leadership by reviewing pull requests, design plans, andparticipatein architecturaldiscussions. Communicate on development strategy, technical subjects related to software developmentframeworks andcollaborate effectively with the globally distributed teams to achievethe businessgoals. Abilityto understand, discuss and improve specifications toenhancethe overall experience for players and game studiopartners. RequiredQualifications Mustrelocateto San Diegoarea. Bachelor's degree in computer scienceplus 5years of experience or equivalentknowledge 5+ years of solid programming experience inend-to-enddevelopment using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, React Native,Java core libraries and web server applications. Experiencewithmobile developmentin iOS (Objective-C/Swift, Xcode) or Android (Java/Kotlin, Android Studio) front-enddevelopment.ProficientwithPython, Go, scripting, and functional languages. Experiencewith modern Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot or similartechnologies to build robustmicroservicesarchitectures. Expert levelknowledgeofobject-orienteddesign and design patterns, and passionate about writing high quality and well-architectedcode. Collaborated on cloud-deployed services hosting APIs and backend processes talking todata-storageand caching layers, event buses, and other services. Strong understanding of engineering best practices - requirement gathering and analysis, design and develop secure and scalable code with unit tests, partake in code reviews and documentation; experience with opensource-basedtechnologystack. Ability tooverseeperiodic on-call duty as well as out-of-bandrequests. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
