Job Description

The Senior Director, Business Solutions is accountable for performance, resiliency, risk posture, and business outcomes of lines of business (LOB) aligned application and project portfolios. This position operates in a matrix with tech/data shared services to keep the LOB reliable, advance change, and advise on technology-balancing LOB outcomes with an enterprise-first framework (TCO, modern delivery, supportability, scalability). This requires a leader who is product-minded with strong business acumen who uses data to drive decisions and product excellence. This role is client-focused, risk-disciplined, a builder of a learning culture, and champions AI to boost productivity, scale, and innovation.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will work side-by-side with business leaders to shape solutions that meet customer needs, scale well, and deliver measurable value.
  • You will drive operational excellence by setting the right metrics (adoption, outcomes, SRE) and automating busywork.
  • You will set direction and lead change-co-create multi-year roadmaps; make clear trade-offs that balance value, cost/TCO, risk, and speed.
  • You will own reliability and risk for business-aligned portfolios-hit SLAs/SLOs, strengthen resiliency, and protect our customers.
  • You will lead modernization-retire tech debt, simplify integrations (API-first/event-driven), and deliver secure, supportable platforms.
  • You will champion responsible AI and smart tools to raise productivity, quality, delivery speed, and customer experience-with the right controls.
  • You will grow high-performing teams-coach leaders, model a product mindset, and foster a learning culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • You will communicate crisply-provide counsel to business partners with clear options, risks, decisions, and results.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Services, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or Business and 15+ years of business experience, ideally in business management, financial, data, or IT management. Recently, at a senior level in the financial services industry.Master's degree or equivalent preferred.

  • Ability to lead large-scale application portfolios and technology programs across multiple lines of business in a regulated environment.
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms, API-first and event-driven architectures, integration patterns, and data governance frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of risk-based control frameworks, disaster recovery/business continuity planning, and audit readiness.
  • Proven experience applying Agile principles and SDLC rigor to deliver complex technology solutions at scale.
  • Ability to manage opex/capex budgets, optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), and negotiate vendor contracts for measurable outcomes.
  • Skilled in managing vendor performance, mitigating concentration risk, and ensuring compliance with sourcing and risk standards.
  • Expertise in orchestrating governance processes, clarifying decision rights, and driving alignment across matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technology concepts to senior business leaders and influence decisions at the enterprise level.
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI tools, governance frameworks, and methods for measuring AI-driven business value.
  • Ability to lead technology modernization efforts, retire technical debt, and implement scalable, supportable solutions.
  • Strong grasp of financial services regulatory requirements and their impact on technology operations and delivery.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain diverse, high-performing teams; foster a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Ability to assess complex, ambiguous situations and make transparent trade-offs on value, speed, cost, risk, and client impact.
