PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT The Production Assistant - Seed plays a key role in helping maintain various aspects of seed inventory, quality control, production, and logistics. This role involves ensuring that seed samples are handled properly, backorders are fulfilled in a timely manner, inventory levels are optimized, and legal and regulatory requirements are met. Additionally, the Production Assistant - Seed will support cross-functional teams in maintaining quality standards, minimizing waste, and facilitating smooth day-to-day operations within the warehouse. This role is responsible for filling in for the Seed Operations Coordinator. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assisting the Seed Operations Coordinator with sampling. Assist with tagging and retagging seed bags. Maintain proper cleanliness to avoid cross contamination and pest control. Load 50-70 lb bags on conveyor belt Stack bags neatly on a pallet from conveyor Line. Responsible for the accurate receipt, placement, and storage of product within the distribution center in accordance with established company policies and procedures Transports merchandise using a forklift / high lift to designated locations within the distribution center, which may include assisting with other production processes, loading, unloading, and order picking. Participates in periodic product inventories and annual inventory. Rotates product and materials throughout the rack storage area as sales data or seasons dictate. Completes all necessary paperwork and updates supervisor to ensure accuracy Ability to fill in for the Seed Operations Coordinator Ability to create production runs in SAP Ability to print seed tags OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a high school degree or the equivalent thereof. Prefer 3-5 years of warehouse and inventory experience. May occasionally be exposed to or required to work in conditions that may include dust, fumes, chemicals with appropriate safety measures. Must be mobile and able to lift 51-70 lbs for an extended period of time. Proven professional communication and customer service skills. Proven leadership skills and the ability to achieve results through others. Demonstrated planning, organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate extreme peak demands and time pressures. Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development. Must qualify to operate warehouse equipment necessary to perform material handling duties. Must have a high degree of product knowledge and storage methods. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
