Overview
MTSI is seeking a Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced PNT technologies for a high-priority U.S. air dominance program. This position presents an exciting opportunity to work directly within the
IPEO Mission Systems
program, delivering advanced Position, Navigation, and Timing technologies critical to national defense. If you're ready to tackle complex challenges and lead the development of capabilities that enhance the warfighter's effectiveness in contested environments, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities
The PNT Systems Engineer / Architect will lead and support the technical development, integration, and transition of advanced PNT capabilities across the Department of the Air Force (DAF). Responsibilities include:
- Lead technical development, risk reduction, and integration of PNT technologies supporting Mission Systems.
- Support requirements definition and refinement, risk management, and evaluation of functional, logical, and physical architectures and interfaces
- Execute PNT-related technology transition, integration, development, test, qualification, and certification activities
- Provide systems engineering support across all phases of acquisition, including Technology Maturation, Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD), Production, and Test.
- Develop and deliver technical plans, technical assessments, design reviews, and test reviews
- Lead and coordinate Government and industry teams in technical execution efforts
- Develop and present technical briefings to a wide range of audiences, including senior Division, Directorate, and DAF leadership
- Collaborate with U.S. Government partner organizations (e.g., U.S. Navy) to support joint mission capability development
This is a
non-supervisory position.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of PNT architectures and systems engineering principles
- Experience with systems development, integration, test, certification, and fielding of advanced technologies
- Familiarity with navigation threats and navigation warfare systems
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, "tip of the spear" environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior technical and leadership audiences
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts and collaborate across Government and industry teams
Desired Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with modern PNT technologies, including but not limited to:
- M-Code GPS
- Blended Navigation Assurance Algorithms
- Alternative Navigation techniques
- Cyber assurance for navigation systems
- Experience with Guided Reference Assemblies (GRAs) and their integration into operational weapon systems (desired, not required)
- Familiarity with Agile development and systems engineering tools, such as:
- Atlassian Suite
- Cameo
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technical and mission requirements
Clearance & Travel Requirements
- Active TS/SCI
- This position is a Special Access Program (SAP) role and requires work in a vault/SCIF environment
- Situational telework only
- TDY travel approximately 20% (about one trip per month)
