The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering offers undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. Graduate programs are offered with specialties in Computing and Systems, Construction Engineering, Water Resources, Coastal and Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering and Mechanics, Transportation Systems and Materials, Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental Engineering, and Mechanics and Materials.
With over 60 faculty, more than 770 undergraduate students, and over 300 graduate students, NC State University's Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (
CCEE) is one of the largest departments in the country and more importantly, one of the best. In 2022, our Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering degrees were ranked at 21st and 26th in the country, respectively.

| Essential Job Duties |
We are seeking scholars and professionals with expertise in civil engineering with a focus on construction engineering who are excited about educating the next generation of engineers. This position contributes to maintaining and enhancing the department's Construction Engineering program, the oldest
ABET-accredited construction engineering program in the United States. While the department expects to hire at the assistant teaching professor level, outstanding candidates at all academic ranks are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach construction engineering courses, including estimating, scheduling, equipment, surveying, senior design, and related subjects
- Provide classroom instruction based on demonstrated teaching excellence and/or relevant professional experience
- Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the Construction Engineering program
- Engage with student organizations and groups through advising and mentorship
- Participate in multidisciplinary initiatives that support the missions of the department and the college

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
An earned doctorate in civil engineering with a focus on construction, or equivalent professional or teaching experience. |
| Other Required Qualifications |
- Demonstrated ability to teach and support instruction in construction engineering topics such as estimating, scheduling, equipment, surveying, senior design, or related subjects.
- Demonstrated experience that reflects a solid understanding of core civil and construction engineering principles as a way to solve problems and address challenges of the industry.
- Ability to apply engineering knowledge to analyze problems and develop practical, effective solutions in academic or professional settings.
- Interest in applying construction engineering expertise to address real-world, societal, or infrastructure challenges through teaching or professional practice.
