Job Description




As a Security Officer - Healthcare Facility Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated healthcare locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and communication. Your role supports a caring environment where teamwork and integrity are valued, making a meaningful impact as you help to maintain a secure atmosphere for all.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within a healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and provide a visible presence.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities or hazards to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification, and maintaining visitor logs as required.
  • Collaborate with site staff and first responders during emergency situations to support established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities encountered while on patrol.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card or security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
