Description MaineHealth Corporate Management/Leadership Req #: 61201 Summary: Under the leadership and general direction of the Vice President of Facilities Management for MaineHealth, the Senior Director of Facility Design & Construction provides strategic leadership and executive oversight for all planning, design, and construction activities across the healthcare system. This role manages a portfolio of hundreds of capital projects- often totaling hundreds of millions of dollars at any one time - ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The Senior Director leads a multidisciplinary team of project managers, interior designers, space planners, architects, engineers, and construction professionals, fostering collaboration with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to create facilities that advance patient care, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability. They will lead this team in a complex, matrixed healthcare environment. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, construction Management or related field (Master's preferred) License/Certifications: Architectural License or PE preferred Experience: 15+ Years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale facility design and construction, preferably in healthcare Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Expert level knowledge of healthcare facility codes, regulations and best practices Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Exceptional leadership, communication and negotiation skills; proven track record managing projects exceeding $100M in value Additional Information With a career at any of the MaineHealth locations across Maine and New Hampshire, you'll be working with health care professionals that truly value the people around them - both within the walls of the organization and the communities that surround it.
