Job Summary

The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal's Office seeks a professional, detail-oriented, and customer-service driven individual to serve as a Plans Reviewer for fire and life safety review operations. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the safety and development of our community. The Plans Reviewer will be responsible for performing routine and complex reviews related to site plans, fire protection systems, fire lanes, and amusement devices, under the Virginia Uniform Building Code and the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code. Reviews may include residential or commercial occupancies, to include Data Centers.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent (college coursework in construction, fire prevention, engineering, or land development/erosion and sediment control, or related field preferred) and four (4) years of related work experience in construction trade, fire plans review, fire prevention, and/or inspection, including interaction with the public or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
Certifications in Fire Plans Review, Fire Protection Plans Examiner, Amusement Device Inspector, Fire Protection Inspector, Building Inspector, or Fire Prevention Inspector (NFPA 1031 or equivalent).

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check(s), to include criminal, credit, fingerprinting, and DMV checks. Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
Obtain state certifications in assigned area within the timeframe stated on state guidelines from the date of hire and as required by assigned department.
