Role Description:
The Publishing Analyst Intern will support the Publishing Director and Production Department in planning and managing implementation of all assigned digital content projects from content collection, analysis, creation, and assembly through final product delivery. The Publishing Analyst Intern will work on teams and alone to develop, establish, and maintain standard operating procedures. The intern will support content projects through task-focused efforts to ensure the desired result is achieved, the most efficient resources are used, and the different interests involved are satisfied.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain hands-on experience supporting the timely and high-quality production and curation of content and products.
- Learn foundational content analysis and processing skills while working under the guidance of a Publishing Director.
- Develop the ability to create clear, useful documentation for user reference and training related to content onboarding and maintenance activities.
- Build critical-thinking and problem-solving skills by contributing to real-world publishing and content management projects.
- Strengthen project management fundamentals, including time management, task prioritization, and effective professional communication within a cross-functional team.
General Responsibilities:
- Support reconciliation and digitization of ASTM standards by comparing published content to existing digital assets; collaborate with Editorial, Sales, and technical teams to identify priority standards and assist in preparing content for publication.
- Assist with data preparation activities, including filtering lists, drafting database queries, and working with developers to support content uploads.
- Create and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and user instructions, to support content onboarding and maintenance activities.
Education:
Must be enrolled in a related Bachelor's degree program as a rising Junior or Senior at an accredited College or University.

Specific to the Position:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a content-, information-, or data-related field (minimum two years completed)
- Exposure to content curation, structured content, or digital publishing concepts
- Familiarity with XML, XHTML, and/or CSS
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems and structured publishing workflows
- Basic understanding of project management concepts and workflows
- Ability to analyze and reconcile content across systems and formats
- Experience filtering datasets, working with structured lists, or drafting basic queries
- Understanding of granular, data-driven publishing versus document-based publishing
- Interest in working with technical and development teams to support content ingestion and maintenance
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent and close visual work at desk or computer.
- Frequent sitting and working at desk.
- Frequent verbal and written communication with team and other stakeholders by phone or video conferencing.
Time Requirements & Compensation:
- Hybrid - Hybrid, 2-3 days in West Conshohocken Office
- 35 hours per week, June through August.
- Compensation: $18.00/Hour
