Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG) is the world's leading manufacturer and remanufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets.

Today, ECG has four facilities operating in Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking aQuality Control Supervisor reporting to the Quality Director at Ellwood Crankshaft & Machine in Hermitage, PA. This salaried exempt position may be required to work rotating shifts and/or 12-hour schedules as the business needs dictate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of 5 years dimensional inspection and non-destructive testing experience
  • Thorough understanding of quality and manufacturing processes
  • Prior Quality Control experience in dimensional inspection and Non-Destructive Testing and Quality Assurance
  • Thorough understanding of tools, gauging and fixturing
  • Ability to use and accurately read measuring instruments
  • Working knowledge of ISO Quality system
  • Working knowledge of Marine Agency Certficiation process
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GDT
  • Working knowledge of machine tools and processes
  • Ability to layout and inspect parts
  • Ability to lead root cause and corrective action investigations and implementation
  • Ability to lead equipment calibrations
  • Ability to work well with a team while also working independently
  • Ability to interact with customers and outside parties
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • US Passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required


RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:



  • Technical and supervisory leadership of ECM Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing Department
  • Execute quality control processes and procedures that assure ECG shipped products are fully compliant with contractual requirements including:

    • Recording and reporting test and inspection results in accordance with customer specifications.
    • Developing Inspection and Testing Plans
    • Managing Measurement Gage calibrations
    • Approving inspection documentation for submission to customers
    • Maintaining and supporting all requirements of ISO 9001


  • Perform root cause investigation and corrective action initiatives
  • Maintain Quality Record Database for completeness and accuracy
  • Perform in-process inspections throughout various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure process conformance.
  • Be a resource to employees in supporting layout questions, in-process verification and troubleshooting any quality issues
  • Engage with workforce in pro-active manner to help support and promote quality objectives
  • Support Zero Defect efforts
  • Participate in special projects or continuous improvement activities
  • Support other facilities as requested by Director of Quality
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary
