*If you need assistance completing this application, please contact Human Resources at (610)-921-9111 ext. 3037 or 3036* Quality Assurance Technician Position Summary The Quality Assurance Technician tests product, sets samples, and conducts quality inspections of products and equipment following protocol and procedures established for Quality Assurance programs. Hours Shift Weekends, overtime and holidays as required Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: *Driving Company Performance* Provide quality inspections on all related items. Perform microbiological and chemical testing of finished products, raw materials and associated items as required. Participate in product weight control, antibiotic testing, lab equipment maintenance and calibration and lab sanitation. Maintain communication with other departments and employees regarding issues that may restrict the efficiency of production. Obtain and maintain State certification for antibiotic testing within company guidelines. Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production. Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's. Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area. Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc. Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. Perform other duties as assigned. Employee Development Safety Training Maintain State Certification for Antibiotic Testing Qualifications Work Experience Required Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing facility Preferred Experience in food and beverage industry Education High School diploma or Equivalent or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training Technical Knowledge Able to flavor milk based, sugar based, and caffeine-based products Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork Basic Math skills Follow and comply with all safety standards Additional Skills/Notes Able to work in a fast-paced environment Dependability Adherence to safety requirements and wearing required PPE Able to work in a team environment Able to pass all pre-employment screens, including drug, background and criminal checks Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Employees are exposed to chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees are required to wear required PPE that is in compliance with OSHA regulations. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend throughout the entire shift. Employees must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds including above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must have full range of body motion.
