Peter Pan Bus Lines is seeking a skilled Coach Builder / Bodyman-Mechanic to perform body and mechanical repairs on buses and other vehicles. This role ensures all work meets company safety, quality, and operational standards. Coach Builders: 165 Clinton St , Springfield, MA 01103 Essential Functions Perform body repairs including dent repair, panel replacement, welding, and frame straightening Diagnose and repair mechanical issues Disassemble and reassemble vehicles for collision and mechanical repair Perform light, medium, and heavy-duty brake work Sanding, prepping, and minor paint-related tasks Inspect vehicles for additional damage and document repairs Maintain a clean and safe work environment Communicate with service writers, estimators, and team members Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities None Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED Up to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination Prior experience as a Bodyman, Auto Technician, or Collision Repair Specialist Required Skills and Abilities Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills Ability to use body repair and mechanical service tools Basic computer skills Attention to detail and quality Ability to work independently and with a team Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Preferred Qualifications ASE and/or I-CAR certifications Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach Frequent use of hands and arms Ability to lift up to 100 pounds Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus Work Environment Outdoor weather exposure Wet and/or humid conditions Moving mechanical parts Extreme heat and cold Electrical hazards Required use of safety equipment Additional Job Requirements Employee must provide own tools Safety-sensitive position Pre-employment drug screening and random testing required Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays Covered by a collective bargaining agreement Safety Statement Employees must comply with all Peter Pan Bus Lines safety policies and applicable laws and regulations.
