SUMMARY:
As an Environmental Services Operations manager, you are responsible for assisting in directing and overseeing the support services operational needs of the department. You will coordinate the tasks of the frontline associates and will serve as liaison between administration and other hospital departments, providing the highest level of service. RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes and annually reviews standards and work procedures for all staff. Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered. Assists in the hiring process; interview, hiring and training of new associates. Orients, develops, and supervises all supervisory / housekeeping staff. Conducts regular inspections and makes recommendations to the Director. Conducts monthly reporting of goals, accomplishments, and future plans. Provides staff education and continuous training. Communicates with staff, administration, and other departments. Coordinates outside services (i.e. Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical and Solid Waste, Document Destruction). Supervisory responsibility for up to 45 FTEs. Supervisory ability necessary to direct the activities of both English speaking and non-English speaking service personnel. Interpersonal ability to interact with a variety of levels of personnel throughout the Hospital. Numerical and clerical ability to prepare schedules and reports. Knowledge of effective housekeeping techniques and procedures. Communication Consistently communicates effectively and expresses ideas clearly. Actively listens and follows appropriate channels of communication. Communicates in a courteous and professional manner with all hospital departments, physicians, ancillary services and the public to promote customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis. Encourages discussion of problems and concerns, the expression of ideas to the department director and/or staff and/or appropriate channels. Maintains concise, complete and accurate records and documentation in accordance with policies, procedures and standards. Maintain and respects patient/employee confidentiality. Management of Time and Resources: Completes work assignments within an acceptable time frame. Uses time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities. Develops and maintains efficient working relationships. Is reliable in respect to attendance. Is Reliable in respect to punctuality. Recognizes the importance of team efforts and partners with others to achieve positive outcomes. Quality: Is part of a team effort to ensure quality services. Offers creative solutions or alternatives to issues or concerns. Produces quality results. Continually strives to improve the quality of work.
