Job Overview
The incumbent receives, stores, issues, and moves raw materials, equipment, or finished goods between storage and work areas, as well as sort and inspect materials and supplies and prepare them according to their work orders and shipping destination. Work Model: Onsite/Office Based
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Separates material and equipment for the process of receiving and inspection.
- Inspects for quantity accuracy and physical damage as required. Stamps or otherwise approves acceptable material and items and prepares acceptance documentation against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Receives material electronically in Maximo.
- Identifies items which require special preference or property handling.
- Ensures kitted parts, materials and assemblies are staged in proper position and delivers or arranges for delivery to the correct location and receipt by the final end user.
- Scan / generate a manifest for all daily deliveries (to include on site deliveries as well as the SSC site deliveries.
- Picks up returnable items, prepares and packs outgoing shipments and processes items for destruction/disposal.
- Prepare and ship hazardous materials.
- Print labels for material and outgoing shipments.
- Keeps records of inbound and outbound materials, equipment, and finished goods.
- Performs operation of manual and powered handling equipment including pallet jack, work saver, and up to 6K forklift to load and offload delivery vehicles and moves material within the site for staging or disposition.
- Provides package courier service throughout the facility.
- Stock Shelves and pulls material to be issued to waiting customers or reservations.
- Assists customers find the correct items and or a replacement item.
- Weigh In and Out the Nitrogen truck before and after the delivery.
- Accept the daily delivery of mail from the USPS, notify the MAF drivers.
- Perform housekeeping in all areas.
- All other Logistics jobs assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Knowledge of the Logistics Process with computer skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
- Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
- Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
- Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.
- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Good organizational, Planning and Communication skills.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team- oriented environment.
- Must maintain the appropriate certifications where applicable. Must possess the degree of familiarization which is consistent with and considered usual and normal for the complexity of the work to be performed.
Working Conditions:
- Physical effort involving able average standing, sitting, walking or detail work.
- Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift minimum of 50 pound load up from the ground frequently.
- Walk six hours per day.
- Bend and stoop six hours per day.
- Work overhead with minimum 20 pound load.
- Push and pull frequently throughout the day.
- Walk up/down stairs frequently.
- Stand seven hours per day.
- Wear PPE gear six hours continuously (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves).
- Tolerate extreme cold/heat for three hours continuously.
