The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Patient Access Team Lead position plays a key role in the health system and in providing excellent customer service while ensuring timely data capture to support registration requirements and financial clearance. The Patient Access Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that all staff are properly scheduling and collecting required demographic, financial, referral/authorization, clinical, and other registration data is accurately. Assists staff with and distributes assignments of work and will support facilitation and coordination of activities with physician offices, service sites and ancillary departments. Understands and is able to perform all job functions to support scheduling and financial clearance. Uses available tools to provide departmental quality assurance, training, and process improvement to support Key Performance Indicators, assists with developing department schedules and works closely with the Patient Access Supervisor to support all needs of the department.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years Patient Access experience
  • CHAA or CRCR Certification
  • Proficient in written/verbal communication, medical terminology.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time, 37.5 hours a week
  • Travel to Oceanport, NJ as needed

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately performs all the appropriate tasks to completion for data capture and entry.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all patients, colleagues and other external and internal customers
  • Supports registration data capture for registration quality and financial clearance outcomes to support throughput and patient satisfaction.
  • Executes assignment efficiently.
  • Troubleshoots issues with patients, staff, and colleagues and escalates barriers and status updates to immediate supervisor.
  • Supports Department Goals
  • Meets quality, productivity, and POS expectations
  • Demonstrates customer service to support patient experience and revenue cycle outcomes.
  • Adheres to all policy, regulatory and compliance guidelines
  • Ensures that appropriate standards of practice meet the needs defined in the organizations mission for excellence and corporate compliance guidelines including and not limited to patient experience, privacy, safety, and revenue cycle policies.
  • Complies with system and department policies procedures.
  • Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and practices safety values.
  • Ensure all account documentation is accurate and complete for all system tasks.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with patients, visitors, providers, payers, and colleagues.
  • Communicates to superiors when supplies, systems, tools and/or workflow processes needed to do their job are not sufficient.
  • Works collaboratively across teams, with peers, and revenue cycle departments.
