Description of Work

Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals.

Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lecturers in the School of Nursing participate in teaching and service activities in support of the School's mission. Essential responsibilities include teaching in face-to-face, online through the current Learning Management System ( LMS, clinical, and simulated environments; evaluation of student performance, creating collaborative relationships with clinical agencies; working with diverse students and faculty; engaging in curriculum design and relevant course content for multiple methods of delivery that aligns with the AACN Essentials 2021, adheres to North Carolina Board of Nursing ( NCBON) requirements, developing and administering reliable and valid tests and measures; and engaging in service to the School of Nursing, the College of Health and Human Services, and, as appropriate, the University. Primary teaching responsibilities for this position will be in undergraduate programs and may include late afternoon, evening, and/or weekends.
Minimum Experience/Education

UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience
Minimum qualifications include a Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution, 2 years of recent nursing experience in general medical-surgical nursing. Teaching experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to effectively collaborate with teams, and manage change are preferred. Preference is given to individuals with a nursing doctoral degree and national certification in a specialty area.
Necessary Licenses/Certifications
Must have, or be eligible to obtain licensing as a Registered Nurse or ARNP from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
