Purpose of the Role
The Senior Timekeeper provides specialized and reliable timekeeping support to field and project teams delivering energy, chemicals, and resources solutions that advance a more sustainable world. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate labor reporting, cost transparency, and compliance with project and contractual requirements. By maintaining high standards of data integrity and supporting disciplined project controls, the Senior Timekeeper contributes to efficient project execution and supports Worley's ambition to be a global leader in sustainability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform moderately complex and varied timekeeping activities in support of field and project operations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established procedures. Review, process, and validate time records for multiple work groups, detecting errors and resolving discrepancies prior to submission and approval. Apply project-specific timekeeping procedures and labor rules, exercising judgment when selecting appropriate methods or precedents. Perform involved calculations related to labor hours, premiums, allowances, or other project-specific requirements. Coordinate assigned timekeeping processes or programs as part of the regular work routine, supporting consistent execution across projects or departments. Maintain organized and auditable timekeeping records aligned with internal controls, governance requirements, and customer expectations. Support department-level managers by providing accurate labor data and responding to routine and non-routine inquiries. Identify recurring issues or process gaps and recommend practical improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality. Provide minor guidance and support to junior timekeeping or administrative personnel, promoting consistent application of procedures. Communicate effectively with field personnel, project teams, management, and external stakeholders, contributing to reports, summaries, or presentations as required. Use advanced knowledge of timekeeping systems, project tools, and related processes to troubleshoot issues and assist others. Support Worley's commitment to safety, integrity, and sustainable delivery by ensuring labor data supports responsible project management.
Qualifications / Skillset
Secondary school education or equivalent, with extensive relevant experience in timekeeping, payroll support, or labor administration within engineering, construction, energy, chemicals, or resources environments. Advanced understanding of timekeeping systems, labor processes, and project-related tools used in field and professional services settings. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed and involved mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently. Strong judgment in applying project-specific procedures and recognizing when exceptions or clarifications are required. Proven capability to self-check work for accuracy and completeness, identifying errors during and after task completion. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while planning and managing a varied workload. Experience providing guidance or informal mentoring to junior personnel. Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes through clear and accurate information.
