Summary of Position

Our team of data engineers aggregate and interpret substantial amounts of health data and information to create actionable, personalized, and timely health signals to support various marketing programs and initiatives. This approach helps deliver better clinical and financial outcomes while creating a different and better healthcare experience for people everywhere.

As Senior Data Engineer, you will help lead the design and create data pipelines using a modern tech stack (Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, and Salesforce Data360, etc.). This role combines technical expertise with strategic collaboration - partnering with marketing and data science teams to unlock new capabilities and deliver actionable insights. You will be responsible for testing programs for efficiency, performance and troubleshoot and correct problems.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the Senior Data Engineer will work closely with marketing teams to understand requirements and develop a strong understanding of marketing objectives to ensure data solutions deliver measurable value and actionable insights. The candidate will consult and be a trusted advisor with marketing and data science to identify new opportunities and guide marketing teams on data-driven strategies that exploit the new tech stack.

We are transitioning to a modern data stack leveraging Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, and Salesforce, while maintaining and migrating existing logic from Redshift. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both environments, helping to refactor and migrate rules and pipelines into the new architecture.

The role also involves championing innovation by leveraging AI-enabled tools and modern architectures to accelerate development and improve team productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with data science, marketing, and engineering teams across the enterprise to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using modern tools such as dbt and Snowflake.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.

  • Lead efforts to migrate and refactor existing Redshift logic into the modern data stack (Snowflake/dbt/Salesforce).

  • Plan and execute development work within Agile frameworks, including CI/CD pipelines and 2-week sprint cycles.

  • Ensure data quality and reliability through testing, documentation, peer reviews, and adherence to coding standards.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve system processes, architecture, and data governance practices.

  • Collaborate with data science teams to ensure data solutions support predictive modeling and advanced analytics.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to marketing teams, identifying opportunities to use Snowflake/Data360 for advanced segmentation and personalization.

  • Leverage GitHub and AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate understanding of legacy code and refactor pipelines into the modern stack.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or SQL/data development roles.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with dbt and modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and/or Databricks.

  • Extensive experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data systems.

  • Strong expertise in data analysis/data mining.

  • Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets, including performance tuning and optimization.

  • Experience with version control (Git/GitHub) and collaborative data development workflows.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Salesforce Data360 (formerly Data Cloud), Marketing Cloud is a plus.

  • Experience with GitHub Copilot preferred.

The base salary range for this position is$150,000 - $170,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2026.Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
