RXO is a leading provider of transportation solutions. With cutting-edge technology at the center, we're revolutionizing the industry with our massive network and commitment to finding solutions for every challenge. We create more efficient ways for shippers and carriers to transport goods across North America.

As a Senior Transportation Manager II at RXO, you will lead a large-scale, multi-region transportation network with responsibility for strategic planning, operational excellence, and financial performance. This role goes beyond day-to-day management-you will drive long-term initiatives that optimize fleet operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and deliver sustainable growth. You'll oversee multiple locations, senior managers, and a workforce of up to 150+ employees, including company drivers and operations staff. If you're ready to influence at an enterprise level and shape the future of transportation, this is your opportunity.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Own full P&L accountability for a multi-region operation, ensuring profitability and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic transportation plans to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support business growth.
  • Lead and mentor a team of managers and senior leaders, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and high performance.
  • Oversee asset management at scale, including tractor/trailer lifecycle planning, maintenance programs, and capital investment decisions.
  • Drive operational KPIs such as on-time performance, equipment utilization, empty mile reduction, and service quality.
  • Partner with senior leadership and key customers to deliver innovative solutions and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Champion driver recruiting and retention strategies to maintain optimal fleet size and workforce stability.
  • Create new lean initiatives throughout the network while focusing on Safety, Quality, Service, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Present and execute new strategies on all aspects of the business with senior customer leadership and internal senior leaders.
  • Ensure compliance and risk management across all DOT regulations and company safety standards.

What you'll need to excel:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • 7+ years of progressive transportation management experience, including multi-site leadership.
  • Proven success in P&L ownership and strategic planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of DOT rules, regulations, and compliance best practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong experience in the principles and practices of the transportation industry.

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 10+ years in transportation or logistics leadership roles.
  • Experience managing large, dedicated fleets and complex operations.
  • Expertise in continuous improvement, resource optimization, and technology-driven solutions.
