The HR Business Partner supports company people initiatives by planning, implementing and administering strategic HR initiatives and programs including employee relations, performance management, leave management, and benefits. Building trusting relationships and partnering in the development of company-wide policies, procedures, systems and HR initiatives. Provides internal customer support and driving HR functional excellence for a multi-site region.

This position requires travel to projects in Southern California, with occasional visits to the Bay Area for team meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Counsel, coach and train management on performance management, employee relations, work environment issues, Federal and State employee leave programs, organizational change and leadership.

  • Partner in the implementation of programs, policies and procedures which support our goal to become the employer of choice within our industry.

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.

  • Oversee the onboarding process of new employees, including new hire orientation facilitation, guiding managers and leaders in the integration of new hires into the Webcor culture.

  • Coordinate performance management process for assigned business unit(s).

  • Investigate employee relations issues, complaints and conflicts in the workplace including appropriate documentation and follow-up. Provide guidance to employees and make recommendation for resolution to supervisors and individuals.

  • Partner with business unit management and Learning & Development Manager to identify training needs. Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.

  • Conduct exit interviews, providing feedback and recommendations to business unit and HR leadership.

  • Examine and suggest modifications to HR processes to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies

  • Participate in special projects and programs.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • HR Certification (HRCI/SHRM) designation preferred

  • Current knowledge of employment laws and compliance

  • Ability to travel to multiple project worksites in the greater Southern California area on a regular basis. "Home base" will be at our home office in downtown Los Angeles, with occasional visits to the San Francisco Bay Area. An auto allowance is provided.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources or another related field and;

  • At least three years' experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role OR;

  • Appropriate combination of education and experience.

  • Prior experience working for a general contractor preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Range of base pay is $118,000-$133,000. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
